First Sales Rep at Venture-Funded, Fast-Growing Startup

About the role

twine (twine.nyc) is a fast growing, venture funded startup that is in the business of serendipity.  Specifically,  we develop professional networking software for events, conferences, and remote teams, and our customers include companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Forrester, and more.

With the business accelerating and fresh funding in the bank, the company is now ready to hire its first Sales rep to complement its team of ten.

We are mostly remote for now, with valued team members in New York, Chennai, San Francisco, Phoenix, Calgary, Fresno, and Buenos Aires.  We are looking to centralize our customer facing functions in Phoenix, and our strong preference is for this role to start there.

About you

As the first Sales Representative at twine, your role exists to help bring twine to market, with a specific focus on new business.

You won’t be going it alone; the core team is extremely well connected in the industry, and will help open doors for you.  

You will also be expected to grind.  Our leads currently come inbound, via channel, via events (both twine and industry hosted), and via our connections.  But we also like outbound here.

You’re a great fit for this role because:

  • You are ready to make the jump.  You have 3-4 years of experience as a high-performing Account Executive in a fast paced, technology company (prefarably SaaS).
  • You know events and event technology.  
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You thrive in ambiguity, and when given the proper context, can make good decisions.
  • You are customer-centric and love helping people.
  • You are very organized and can juggle both issue resolution & concise communication .
  • You are someone who lights up a room, is emotionally intelligent and great at building relationships.

Your key responsibilities will be to…

  • Help us “Land” at new accounts.
  • Grow and manage your pipeline.
  • Identify companies and communities that would benefit from twine’s technology.
  • Document your learnings in our CRM so that the prospect’s voice is heard by our product, customer success, and community teams.
