twine for Zoom is officially live; Supercharge your Zoom Breakout Rooms today!

(Don’t feel like reading?  Install twine for Zoom now!)

This announcement has been a long time coming!  The teams @twine and @glimpse (acquired by twine in February) have been grinding for years on the problem of virtual serendipity, and how to bring human connection to online gatherings.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that we are opening up twine for Zoom to everyone, for free up to 5 concurrent users.

At a tactical level, twine for Zoom is a way to supercharge your breakout rooms on Zoom via roulette style and tag based matchmaking, as well as a visual map mode which allows your Zoom attendees to self select into breakout – all without leaving Zoom.

But at a human level, twine for Zoom is a bit more ambitious than that.  We want to give teams, communities, and companies the ability to connect with one another at the click of a button. We  want to recreate the serendipitous collisions that once happened face to face in your hallway, your lobby, your elevator.  We  want to rebuild the connective tissue that Remote Everything has weakened a bit.

The use cases are endless: Speed Networking, Mentor / Mentee Matching, Employee Happy Hours, Networking for Virtual Conferences, New Hire Onboarding… the list goes on.

Read on for the specifics of what the product does.
